la création de l’AJMi, André Jaume dirigeait la classe de jazz (une des
premières en France) du Conservatoire d’Avignon. De cette classe sont issus
quelques grands noms du jazz en France (Bruno Chevillon, Remi Charmasson,
Bernard Santacruz, Claude Tchamitchian, Guillaume Orti, Gilles Coronado,
Guillaume Séguron, Lionel Garcin …) qui ont fait leurs premiers pas sur la
scène de l’AJMi. Sur cette scène André Jaume s’y est retrouvé régulièrement,
avec divers projets, dès 1979 et son formidable duo avec Joe McPhee, plus tard
avec Jimmy Giuffre. Un grand musicien et pour longtemps encore un ami de l’AJMi.
Le revoilà aujourd’hui à l’AJMi en compagnie d’Alain Soler, Pierre Fénichel et Anthony Soler, ces
compagnons de route actuel.
