Lene Lovich avait pris la tête des charts au Royaume-Uni avec sa chanson Lucky Number en 1979. L’influence de cette « reine du bizarre » s’est répandue à travers plusieurs générations d’artistes alternatifs et pop, de Nina Hagen à Boy George, en passant par Madonna et The Dresden Dolls. Son style très original et ses compositions expérimentales ont exercé une influence énorme sur la culture pop. Lene Lovich s’est retiré de la scène après la sortie de son troisième album No Man’s Land. Depuis, elle n’a enregistré que deux albums en trente ans. En mai 2012, à l’occasion d’une célébration de la musique du compositeur allemand Kurt Weill, Lene a commencé à collaborer avec Jude Rawlins, le chanteur du groupe Subterraneans. Ensemble, ils ont eu l’idée de former le LENE LOVICH BAND pour permettre à la musique de Lene Lovich de circuler de nouveau ‘on the road’. Ils ont recruté la bassiste française Lydia Fischer, le batteur Morgan King et la claviériste Kirsten Morrison.

Morgan began his musical career as a drummer in Manchester band Illustration. The group signed to Some Bizarre Records when the song "Tidal Flow" was picked up to feature on the Some Bizarre Album. It was the same album that saw the first tracks by Depeche Mode, Soft Cell, The The and Blancmange. Their song was selected as track 1 on the fish side and they went on to have their second release produced by Martin Hannett at Strawberry Studios. During this period he also worked with Mike Hedges at his Playground Studio. Morgan decided to put focus back on his music as a direct result of working and touring with Lene Lovich. In 2015 he started to write his first album as a solo artist “Grains & Grams whilst visiting Belgium, then decided to move there and start recording in 2016. For production he teamed up with Italian producer Giulio Gaietto and the album was released September the same year. At present he tours with Lene Lovich and as a solo artist.
