Estelle Perrault a grandi entre la France, Taiwan et le Canada anglophone. Forte de ces trois cultures, c’est à travers un parcours atypique qu’elle a forgé cette identité singulière que l’on retrouve dans son interprétation musicale, dont le style est influencé par des musiciens tels que Shirley Horn ou Mel Tormé. Après avoir parcouru diverses scènes locales dans le Canada anglophone, Estelle s'intalle à Paris en 2015 et collabore depuis avec des musiciens des plus talentueux de la scène Jazz. Through her unique vocal styling and natural swing, reminiscent of Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday, Estelle Brothers and her Quartet - featuring Alain Jean Marie on keys - transport the listener to the golden age of jazz, while superimposing their own passion, emotion and color.
Alain Jean-Marie is considered by many to be France’s – if not Europe’s – top living jazz pianist. Born in the Carribean island of Guadeloupe, Alain established himself in Paris in 1973 and quickly became a ‘first-call’ pianist. From 1976 on, he toured and recorded with such jazz legends as Chet Baker, Sonny Stitt, Art Farmer, Johnny Griffin, Lee Konitz, Bill Coleman, Max Roach, Abbey Lincoln, Barney Wilen and Benny Golson.
Estelle Brothers Quartet featuring Alain Jean Marie remain faithful to the tradition of the Great American Songbook, however, with a repertoire of swings and ballads that provides the spectator a full sensory experience of the music of that glorious period.
Embarking on a trip with this band and its unsinkable repertoire ensures a most enjoyable voyage back to one of the most lively and elegant times in the history of jazz.
