Il y a dix ans, paraissait le premier album de Ben L’Oncle Soul. Il révélait la soul attitude de ce chanteur hors normes sorti de nulle part – ou, plus précisément, des Beaux-Arts de Tours. Depuis, sa voix en or a transporté des centaines de salles de concerts en France et à travers le monde. Aujourd’hui, c’est Ben. Simple, évident… et sans les échos nostalgiques d’un oncle, aussi soul soit-il ! Bonne nouvelle, ce changement n’est pas que patronymique, il est également sonore. Avec Addicted to You, Ben balaie les frontières entre R’n’B et hip hop, tendance jazz, d’obédience pop, avec des échos soul par ci, reggae par là. Aujourd’hui, BEN décide de poser son micro sur la scène du Mouratoglou Hotel & Resort pour une soirée assise à ciel ouvert qui s’annonce d’ores et déjà comme mémorable.

Le lieu

Avec sa piscine iconique en forme de raquette, le Mouratoglou Hotel & Resort est un complexe sportif et hôtelier de 12 hectares en plein cœur de la technopole de Sophia Antipolis, à Biot. Véritable temple de sport et de bien-être, le lieu a vocation à devenir une véritable terre d’événements et accueille régulièrement des artistes internationaux.

The debut album from Ben L’Oncle Soul was released ten years ago, revealing an extraordinary soul-infused singer who sprung from nowhere – or, more specifically, from the school of fine arts in Tours. Since then, his superb voice has enraptured audiences in hundreds of venues. But Oncle Soul is the past. Now he is just Ben., no longer the same character he created at the start of his musical career. “I’d formed a really strong bond with the public and I thought it was finally time to get even closer, to move on to a more direct relationship,” he explains. Ben. is a timeless nickname. Simple, clear. And lacking the nostalgic resonance of an uncle, however soulful! The good news is that this isn’t merely a name change; his sound has evolved as well. On Addicted to You, Ben. tears down the boundaries between R’n’B and hip hop, goes jazzy with a pop vibe, echoes of soul and reggae here and there.

The place

With its iconic racket-shaped pool, the Mouratoglou Hotel & Resort is a 12-hectare sports and hotel complex in the heart of the Sophia Antipolis, in Biot. The place, with an atmosphere of of sport and well-being, aims to become a veritable land of events.
